Art Basel

Art Basel – Miami, FL., Dec 1st, 2016

Surviving an earthquake is one thing, but recovering from Art Basel it’s a whole different monster. Between Wynwood and South Beach the best place to be is home. Its that time of the year when the city doubles one tourist,  and it’s also the most exhausting. Too many parties to RSVP to, and to be honest, all I want is a nap.  Where’s my pillow?

My thoughts go out to Michael Perez from Gallery 212 in Wynwood. Praying for a speedy recovery.

Out of the Ocean

I survived my first summer after the storm. The possibilities of it arriving one day, and that I would love it was like a figment of someone else’s imagination. Then summer came, and it felt like an old friend, whom I had not seen in so long, and I remembered the line from a song by one of my favorite artist “Give your heart and change your mind, you’re allowed to do it, cause God knows it’s been done to you and somehow you got through it” and just like that forgiveness came in, and I knew that I was going to be OK after all.

I Waited ’til I Saw the Sun

When was the last time you saw the sunrise or the sunset? I encourage you to go at once. Get up tomorrow and catch the sunrise, and before you go home catch it setting. It revives you like nothing else especially after your heart’s been broken, which you forget about once you take a good picture.

Sunrise, sunrise
Looks like mornin’ in your eyes
But the clocks held 9:15 for hours
Sunrise, sunrise
Couldn’t tempt us if it tried
‘Cause the afternoon’s already come and gone…
